VIKTOR & ROLF Fall 08 RTW

Viktor & Rolf are two of my favorite living artists. I love how the statement they are making for this season is the same they overtly made for Fall 06 (Viktor & Rolf on Strike). They're saying 'no' to the 'here today, gone tomorrow' commercialism that runs in the industry. I admire their punk attitude in splaying this collection for the fashion world in a 'here's our collection, fashion world...eat it up' way. Stapling the seams with the gold staples was "liberating" for Viktor & Rolf. Don't misunderstand, though, this is far from a DIY effort. In fact, it's one of the more elegant collections of the season. It is great to sense that the designers are content and happy with what they have presented. And hey, I'm eating this collection all up!
